Thoughts on the Bible text

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
James 5: 16b

Introduction

The Bible text for today’s devotional can be found in the final chapter of the letter of James. It expresses the hope that prayer can be helpful in difficult or even hopeless situations in life and underlines the point that prayer requires faith and trust (James 5: 15–18). The explanation concludes with a reference to the powerful prayer of the prophet Elijah.

Pentecost Day

The Power Unfolds In Man

Pentecost Divine Service on 31 May 2020 at 4 p.m. Malaysian time

Pentecost is the day of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and also the birthday of the church of Christ. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Apostle Peter preached a sermon two thousand years ago whose focus was on the crucified, risen, and ascended Christ. Approximately three thousand people were added to the church that day. Pentecost is therefore also a model for the power of a Spirit-inspired sermon and for the growth of the congregation through the activity of the Apostles.
On Pentecost Sunday, 31 May 2020, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, the spiritual leader of the New Apostolic Church, will conduct a divine service in Darmstadt in Germany, which will be transmitted around the world. He will conduct the service in English. The sermon will be interpreted into German at the altar and simultaneously into French, Spanish, Portuguese, and many other languages. The festive divine service will be broadcast on YouTube, please follow below link:

“And Whatever You Do, Do It Heartily, As To The Lord”

Jakarta. An online interview with District Apostle Edy Isnugroho through the @nac.indonesia Instagram account, answering questions raised by young people, ministers, and brothers and sisters.

District Apostle Edy, can young New Apostolic Church be allowed to marry a couple outside the New Apostolic. If it is possible, how is the process?

If the partner is a moslem, that cannot be done in Indonesia. Unless the New Apostolic partner would converted to Islam first [or vice versa]. However, such conditions can be implemented Continue reading

We pray for MH17
On board MH17 were also 4 members of the New Apostolic Church according to news on the websites of NAC Netherlands and NAC North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Chief Apostle comments in a message as follows:
"The misfortune hits me very hard! We have prayed yesterday evening for the victims in the circle of the Apostles here in Kigali / Rwanda, where I am currently visiting our faithful. My flight departed only minutes before the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 from Amsterdam. Maybe I have even met some of these people at the airport. I pray intensely for all the victims and their families and share the suffering of our brothers and sisters."

The New Apostolic Church Malaysia reaches out in thought and prayer to all mourning families. We join the international community to offer sympathy and condolences. May healing and forgiveness be brought about by the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
