Annual meeting in Jakarta of Apostles and Responsible Rectors South East Asia

During this weekend from 12 to 14 January 2019, the Apostles as well as national rectors, and administrative executives gathered in Jakarta to attend the Annual Convention of the NAC Southeast Asia and discuss a number of topics including the implementation of the concept of ministry and preparation for IYC 2019 in Düsseldorf.

Sunday morning (1/13) they joined with all ministers and wives from DKI and Banten to attend the divine service conducted by the District Apostle Edy Isnugroho in our church in Depok.

“Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ”

This passage from 1 Corinthians 11: 1 is the basis for the service. The District Apostle emphasizes and invites us to follow Christ’s example in doing God’s will, in faithfulness, forgiving, and loving others.

In the afternoon, all Apostles served in various congregations in Jakarta and Banten regions. A special opportunity for the Apostles, but also for the congregation served. Apostle Samuel H. Tansahtikno, who now lives in the Philippines, for example, feels like ‘at home’ while serving the Kedoya congregation – a congregation that has been his responsibility for many years, even prayed for a sister who on that day had her 93rd birthday.

The District Apostle himself served in the Tangerang congregation with Apostle Rumantiyo (Lampung) and dispensed Holy Sealing to 8 souls and ordained 2 Priests and 3 new Deacons.

We pray for MH17
On board MH17 were also 4 members of the New Apostolic Church according to news on the websites of NAC Netherlands and NAC North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Chief Apostle comments in a message as follows:
"The misfortune hits me very hard! We have prayed yesterday evening for the victims in the circle of the Apostles here in Kigali / Rwanda, where I am currently visiting our faithful. My flight departed only minutes before the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 from Amsterdam. Maybe I have even met some of these people at the airport. I pray intensely for all the victims and their families and share the suffering of our brothers and sisters."

The New Apostolic Church Malaysia reaches out in thought and prayer to all mourning families. We join the international community to offer sympathy and condolences. May healing and forgiveness be brought about by the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
